Job summary

The State of New Hampshire is seeking a Corrections Counselor/Case Manager for the Division of Rehabilitative Services in Concord, NH. The role involves counseling inmates, providing case management, and coordinating with clinical staff to support transition planning.

Requirements include an associate degree with related experience, or a 4-year combined education/experience background, plus a valid driver's license and background checks.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree and 2 years of experience OR equivalent combination of 4 years of education and experience after high school.
• Experience and education must be in social work, psychology, criminology, vocational rehabilitation, education, guidance, correctional administration, program development, parole, criminology, or related behavioral sciences.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must pass security and background screenings required for correctional environments.
• Trainee option allows 3+ years of education/experience after high school to start in trainee status.

Responsibilities

• Monitors inmates to ensure a safe and secure environment as part of the facility unit team.
• Conducts individual and group counseling and case management with inmates.
• Coordinates with medical, psychiatric and psychology staff to ensure appropriate treatment services.
• Schedules appointments, boards, and activities within the prison system.
• Develops aftercare plans for inmates transitioning to community settings.
