Job summary

West Virginia is seeking a Corrections Case Manager to advocate for an inmate caseload, develop case histories and treatment plans, and provide behavioral recommendations to circuit courts. You will also perform a weekly 12-hour security shift to help maintain safety and orderly movement within the facility.

This role combines clinical counseling with administrative duties, demanding empathy, leadership, and the ability to coordinate with legal representatives and families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in criminal justice or related field.
• Two years of inmate counseling, security or treatment experience in corrections or related fields.
• Master's degree may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
• Five years of experience at Correctional Officer 2 or higher may substitute for required training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary advocate and strategist for an assigned caseload of inmates.
• Develop complex case histories and treatment programs for inmates.
• Provide behavioral recommendations to circuit courts based on assessments.
• Fulfill a mandatory weekly 12-hour security shift to ensure facility safety and movement.
