Job summary

Bureau of Prisons/Federal Prison System is seeking a Correctional Treatment Specialist (Case Manager) to support humane rehabilitation and public safety through structured counseling and case management.

You will lead group guidance, plan releases, coordinate with community resources, prepare progress reports for parole considerations, and liaise with attorneys, judges and parole officers while maintaining security responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Transcripts may be required and uploaded if education is a criterion.
• Foreign education may require official evaluation by the DOE.
• Superior academic achievement criteria may apply for some applicants.
• Official transcripts may be required prior to first duty day.

Responsibilities

• Lead group guidance sessions on institutional adjustment and release planning.
• Provide individual counseling tailored to offender needs and develop adjustment techniques.
• Coordinate with community resources to develop release plans and parity for parole considerations.
• Liaise with attorneys, judges, probation and parole officers regarding inmate cases.
• Prepare diagnostic studies and evaluate factors affecting the assigned caseload, maintaining security.
