Qualifications

• Ability to supervise security staff and handle inmate custody.
• Must be certified by the SCDC training academy and complete basic supervisory course within six months.

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of the Housing Lieutenant, supervise security personnel and oversee inmate custody.
• Supervise job performance and appearance of staff; assist with evaluations and disciplinary actions.
• Assist in shift briefings, counts, inspections, and investigations; maintain OSHA and safety standards.
• Perform duties of the Housing Lieutenant in their absence.
