Job summary

131 DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS is seeking a Correctional Training Officer for Professional Development at Great Plains Correctional Center. The role conducts job analyses, develops curriculum, and delivers classroom training to staff to improve performance and compliance.

The Level I and Level II positions pay between $42,445.52 and $46,664.80 per year, are non-negotiable, and require on-site work. Some positions may involve travel; the job emphasizes program coordination and contract management

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required for Level I.
• Bachelor’s degree plus 1 year of qualifying experience for Level II.
• Correctional or security work may substitute for education.

Responsibilities

• Conduct job analyses to evaluate training needs and develop curriculum.
• Deliver classroom training, workshops or seminars to enhance staff skills.
• Prepare training reports and maintain participant records.
• Schedule and coordinate training sessions and locations.
• Supervise other training officers in planning and conducting correctional training programs.
• Coordinate department or division training programs.
• Manage contracts with service providers.
