Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory is seeking a SATS Counselor at Hiland Mountain Correctional Center in Eagle River, AK to manage a caseload and deliver SBIRT and ASAM-based assessments under the ADOC SATS contract.

You will facilitate groups, develop treatment plans, coordinate referrals and reentry planning, monitor client progress, and maintain timely, compliant documentation in a fast-paced corrections setting.

Qualifications

• Alaska State Counselor Technician Certification required.
• Knowledgeable of Substance Related and Addictive Disorders and its treatment.
• Experience consistent with Alaska State Certification CDCI; CDCII preferred.
• Must pass ADOC background check and PREA screening.
• If not CDC Level 1, submit a training plan within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a caseload and facilitate groups and staff meetings.
• Follow approved treatment curriculum and complete SBIRT and ASAM assessments.
• Develop treatment plans and referrals; reentry planning as needed.
• Document timely and in compliance with contract requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
