Job summary

CorrHealth is seeking an experienced RN to provide comprehensive nursing care for inmates in a correctional setting. You will assess health issues, perform diagnoses, plan and implement care, and document medical services while supporting daily operations and safety within the facility.

The role requires a current RN license and proactive collaboration with health care teams, including potential responsibilities as Charge Nurse.

Qualifications

• Current and unrestricted RN license in good standing
• Degree/diploma from an approved nursing program
• Correctional healthcare experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Assess health problems of new inmates and initiate medical records
• Respond to day-to-day medical issues and emergencies
• Administer prescribed treatments and medications
• Prepare equipment and rooms for examinations
• Maintain IVs and IV therapies as needed
• Coordinate with HSA and may serve as Charge Nurse or Acting Supervisor
• Be familiar with emergency procedures and triage protocols
• Provide CPR instructions and operate AED if trained
• Use standard medical equipment safely (EKG, BP monitor, etc.)
• Educate patients on diet, hygiene, and prevention of chronic diseases
