Job summary

CorrHealth is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide full nursing services to inmates, including assessment, planning, and evaluation of medical conditions. The role supports security and care within a correctional facility, with potential leadership in the absence of the HSA.

Requirements include a professional nursing degree, an unrestricted RN license, and CPR/BLS certification. Prior correctional healthcare experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma from a professional nursing program approved by the state accrediting agent.
• Current and unrestricted RN license; license must be maintained.
• Must have CPR/BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assess health problems of inmates and initiate medical records.
• Respond to day-to-day medical issues and emergencies.
• Administer prescribed treatments and medications as needed.
• Prepare equipment and rooms for examinations and assist providers.
• Educate patients on diet, hygiene and prevention of chronic diseases.
• May serve as Charge Nurse or Acting Supervisor in absence of the HSA.
