Job summary

AvaMed Workforce is actively hiring an RN or LPT for a 6-month contract at High Desert State Prison in Susanville, CA. The role features day shifts (Wed-Sun) on an 8-hour schedule with orientation provided.

Location is on-site at the correctional facility, with a 2-week orientation and ongoing clinical support. Ideal candidates hold CA RN or BVNPT licenses, current BLS, and have correctional, behavioral health or acute care experience.

Qualifications

• Active California RN license (BRN) or Licensed Psychiatric Technician license (BVNPT).
• Current BLS (AHA).
• Correctional, behavioral health or acute care experience preferred.
• Background check and facility security clearance.
• TB test, immunizations and facility health clearances.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing or psychiatric technician care to patients within scope of license.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered and document accurately.
• Monitor patients, take vital signs and report changes in condition.
• Support clinic flow, sick call and provider visits.
• Follow all safety, security and contraband procedures.
