Job summary

AvaMed Workforce is seeking a Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) for a full-time assignment at a California correctional facility in Tehachapi. The LPT will provide behavioral and psychiatric nursing care under supervision of RN/MD, adhering to facility policies and California licensure requirements.

Qualified candidates hold a California LPT license and AHA BLS, with strong documentation and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Current and active California Psychiatric Technician (LPT) license.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association (AHA).
• Ability to credential, background check, health screening and onboarding requirements.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
• Ability to work with interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Provide general behavioral and psychiatric nursing care.
• Conduct clinical rounds and monitor patients.
• Administer medications and treatments under supervision.
• Administer injections and related procedures.
• Monitor vital signs and document.
• Observe patient status and report changes.
• Collaborate with Treatment Team to develop plans.
• Assist with individual and group therapy programs.
• Facilitate therapeutic group activities as appropriate.
• Coordinate appointments and ensure patient availability.
