Job summary

AvaMed Workforce is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) for a 6-month contract at High Desert State Prison in Susanville, CA. The role involves day shifts on a Wed-Sun schedule with an orientation period to acclimate staff and procedures.

Qualifications

• Active California RN license (BRN) or Licensed Psychiatric Technician license (BVNPT).
• Current BLS (AHA) certification required.
• Correctional, behavioral health or acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing or psychiatric technician care to patients within scope of license.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered and document accurately.
• Monitor patients, take vital signs and report changes in condition.
• Support clinic flow, sick call and provider visits.
• Follow all safety, security and contraband procedures.
