Job summary

CorrHealth is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive nursing care within a correctional facility. The RN will assess inmates, diagnose and plan care, and coordinate with the health care team to maintain and restore health status.

Responsibilities include administering medications, responding to emergencies, preparing exam rooms, and educating inmates on preventive health. CPR/BLS certification and a current RN license are required.

Qualifications

• Current and unrestricted RN license required.
• Degree or diploma from an approved nursing program.
• Current CPR/BLS certification and TB test within one year.

Responsibilities

• Assess health problems of inmates and initiate medical records.
• Respond to day-to-day medical issues and emergencies.
• Administer prescribed treatments and medications as required.
• Prepare equipment and rooms for examinations; assist providers.
• Maintain IVs and supervise IV therapies as needed.
• Educate patients on diet, hygiene, and prevention of chronic disease.
• May act as Charge Nurse or Supervisor and delegate tasks.
