Job summary

CFG Health Systems, LLC seeks a Psychiatrist for Essex County Correctional Facility in Newark, NJ. The physician will diagnose and treat mental health disorders, develop treatment plans, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a correctional setting.

Responsibilities include assessment, diagnostic testing, psychotropic management, and crisis intervention, with on-site coverage and coordination with staff, nurses, social workers, and court personnel.

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed Psychiatrist in New Jersey (state license required).
• Forensic Evaluator designation preferred.
• Experience in inpatient and/or outpatient psychiatric services.
• Experience in correctional healthcare or forensic settings preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to interact effectively with institutional staff, medical personnel, and court agencies.
• Must successfully complete a background investigation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement clinical programs with psychologists and other mental health professionals.
• Provide full range of psychiatric services: assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing management.
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications and provide medication management services.
• Analyze patient data and test results to determine mental disorder scope.
• Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, social workers, psychiatric nurses, and others to coordinate plans.
• Gather and maintain patient information including social, medical, and psychiatric history.
• Conduct or review lab and diagnostic tests to assess patient condition.
