Adult Correction is seeking a Correctional Programs Supervisor to oversee institutional operations and supervise staff within the Department of Adult Correction. The role requires strong communication with staff, offenders, and the public, plus the ability to manage crisis situations and conduct surveillance.

• Bachelor’s degree in human services or criminal justice and one year of experience in corrections or related work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to defend oneself against attack by violent persons.
• Must have effective verbal & written communication with staff, offenders, and the general public.
• Demonstrate ability to monitor and operate equipment and manage documentation.

Responsabilidades

• Must have effective verbal & written communication with staff, offenders, and the general public.
• Be capable of defending oneself against attack by violent persons.
• Monitor off site programs, which may require operation of a motor vehicle in a safe/secure manner at any time of day and in varying weather/ road conditions.
• Work under stressful conditions caused by direct contact with incarcerated offenders who can become physically violent and verbally abusive.
• Conduct continuous visual/ audio surveillance of assigned work area.
• Accurately operate various office machines, prepare written reports/ forms which accurately reflect information reviewed from various sources.
• Demonstrate/ instruct inmates in the proper safe use of tools/equipment/supplies.
• Review, analyze & evaluate various documents and behavioral data gathered from interviews, written documentation and personal observation.
• Perform crisis intervention/ routine counseling including suicide prevention.
• Effectively train, observe, evaluate, and supervise subordinate staff in duties/ responsibilities.
• Account for supplies, equipment, and develop/implement/manage correctional programs.
