Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Stands watch in halls or towers to control movement of inmates.
• Supervises inmate groups on work details; instructs inmates on assignments.
• Inspects quarters for safety and contraband; searches inmates and visitors.
• Maintains alert and reports unusual conditions; inspects security equipment.
• Performs inmate counts and records progress, behavior, and incidents.
• Drives transfer vehicle; maintains safety equipment.
• Explains rules and services to inmates; assists with personal, educational, and vocational issues.
• Observes inmate behavior and submits evaluation reports.
• Instructs inmates in hygiene, discipline and etiquette.
