Job summary

CorrHealth is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Grand Junction correctional facility to provide comprehensive nursing care to inmates, including assessment, planning, and evaluation of medical conditions.

The RN will respond to emergencies, administer treatments, and ensure documentation complies with HIPAA and facility policies. Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills are essential for this role.

Qualifications

Degree or diploma from a professional nursing program approved by the state licensure authority.
Current and unrestricted licensed Registered Nurse in good standing.
Experience in correctional healthcare is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Assess health problems of inmates and initiate medical records and special needs PORs.
Respond to day-to-day medical issues and emergencies with patients.
Administer prescribed treatments and medications as medically required.
Prepare medical equipment, records, and rooms for examinations and assist the provider as needed.
Educate patients on diet, hygiene, and prevention of chronic diseases; delegate tasks as appropriate.
