Job summary

CorrHealth seeks a Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive nursing services in a correctional facility, including patient assessment, care planning, and medication administration. You will also contribute to patient education and collaborate with the health care team to ensure quality care while maintaining security requirements.

The role requires current RN licensure, ability to handle emergencies, and experience with standard medical equipment in a high-security environment.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma from a professional nursing program.
• Current and unrestricted RN license in good standing.
• Experience in correctional healthcare preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assess and identify health problems of inmates and initiate medical records.
• Respond to day-to-day medical issues and emergencies.
• Administer prescribed treatments and medications as needed.
• Prepare medical equipment, records, and rooms for examinations.
• Maintain IVs for IV therapies as needed and document care.
• Delegate tasks to licensed and support staff as appropriate.
• Educate patients on diet, hygiene, and disease prevention.
