Job summary

TTUHSC is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) at the Dalhart Unit to deliver direct patient care across West Texas facilities under TTUHSC Managed Care. The role requires administering medications, health assessments, and contributing to treatment plans within a patient‑centered team.

The position is full-time with up to 25% travel, offering hourly compensation from $34.00 to $42.00, and a comprehensive benefits package. Current Texas RN license or transfer eligibility is required.

Qualifications

  • Current RN license in Texas or ability to transfer license to Texas.
  • New graduates must pass NCLEX-RN on first attempt.
  • No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver direct patient care and participate in treatment planning.
  • Administer medications and monitor patient responses.
  • Perform health assessments and document findings in EMR.
  • Assist with exams, procedures, and equipment preparation.
  • Adhere to TTUHSC and TDCJ policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Communicates patient data using EMR (Electronic MedicalRecords) to support decision-making to improve patient care.
  • Assists with or performs exams and procedures and documentsintervention in EMR.
  • Prepares and operates necessary equipment and instruments forexaminations, treatments, and procedures.
  • Complies with TDCJ (Texas Department of Criminal Justice) andTTUHSC (Texas Tech University Health Science Center) policy andprocedures including all necessary paperwork.
  • Safety and Security-provides an environment conductive tosafety and security for patients, visitors and employees. Assessesrisk to patient and staff and takes appropriate precaution
  • Administer or assist with administration or documentation ofmedications
  • Other duties deemed appropriate by supervisor.

Required Qualifications

Current RN License in the State of Texas, or ability to transferlicense to Texas, or scheduled to complete a program of nursingwithin 120 days of applying for a position.
