Job summary

CoreCivic in Natchez, Mississippi seeks a Mental Health Therapist to plan and provide non-medical mental health services within the facility. This staff position offers an hourly salary of $73–$85 per hour, reflecting the high-demand nature of correctional mental health work.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling or related field.
Five years of clinical experience, including two years in a comparable role.
Active licensure/certification in the state (LPC, LCSW or LMFT).
Driver's license preferred unless contract dictates otherwise.

Responsibilities

Conduct mental health screenings and assessments based on records and interviews.
Develop, implement and adjust individual treatment plans for inmates.
Document treatment and evaluations in health records.
Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information at all times.
Demonstrate knowledge of counseling theory and techniques for caseload.
Provide mental health assessments, counseling and crisis interventions.
