Job summary

CoreCivic is seeking a Correctional Mental Health Therapist in Coronado, California to plan and provide non-medical clinical mental health services within the facility. The position requires a Master's degree in a relevant field, licensure, and several years of experience, including work with inmate populations.

You will conduct screenings, develop treatment plans, document care, and maintain confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling or related clinical field.
• Five years of clinical experience, including two years in a comparable job position.
• Must hold LPC, LMFT or LCSW certification or licensing in the practicing state.
• Minimum age 21 years.

Responsibilities

• Conduct mental health screenings and assessments based on available records and clinical interviews with inmates.
• Develop, implement and modify individual treatment plans based on evaluation of needs and functioning.
• Document treatment and evaluation activities in the health care record for each person seen.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive materials and information at all times.
• Demonstrate knowledge of psychological counseling theory and techniques in treatments for caseload.
• Provide mental health assessments, counseling and crisis interventions.
