Job summary

CoreCivic in Tutwiler, Mississippi seeks a Correctional Mental Health Therapist to plan and provide non‑medical mental health services for inmates, including screenings, assessments and treatment plan development.

Candidates must have a Master's degree in a clinical field, at least five years of clinical experience (two in a similar role) and licensure (LPC, LCSW, or LMFT); a valid driver's license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling or related clinical field.
• Five years of clinical experience including two years in a comparable position.
• Must hold appropriate state licensure (LPC, LCSW, or LMFT).

Responsibilities

• Conduct mental health screenings and assessments for inmates.
• Develop, implement and modify individual treatment plans.
• Document treatment and evaluation activities in health care records.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information at all times.
• Demonstrate knowledge of counseling theories and techniques for caseloads.
• Provide mental health assessments, counseling and crisis interventions.
