Job summary

CoreCivic seeks a Correctional Mental Health Therapist in Milan, New Mexico. The role plans and provides non-medical clinical mental health services in the facility, with annual salary between $94,180 and $110,190.

The successful candidate will conduct mental health screenings, develop and modify treatment plans, document care, maintain confidentiality, and provide crisis intervention for inmates. A Master’s degree, 5 years of clinical experience (2 in a similar role), licensure, and 18+ years

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling or related clinical area.
• Five (5) years of clinical experience including two (2) years in a comparable job position.
• Must possess appropriate certification or licensing in the state where practice occurs (e.g., LPC, LCSW, or LMFT).
• A valid driver's license is preferred unless required by contract or statute.
• Minimum age 18 years.

Responsibilities

• Conduct mental health screenings and assessments from records and interviews with inmates.
• Develop, implement and modify individual treatment plans based on needs and functioning.
• Document treatment and evaluation activities in the health care record for each person seen.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive materials at all times.
• Demonstrate knowledge of psychological counseling theory and techniques for caseload treatments and activities.
• Provide mental health assessments, counseling and crisis interventions to address inmate needs.
