NaphCare is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in Union Springs, Alabama, serving residents at the Bullock Correctional Inpatient Facility. This full-time role blends clinical nursing with the unique responsibilities of correctional healthcare in a secure environment.

As a Correctional RN, you will perform health screenings, administer medications, monitor chronic conditions, handle emergencies, and educate patients on preventative care.

Qualifications

• Holds a current, unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse in Alabama.
• Active BLS CPR Certification (AHA preferred).
• Knowledge of nursing practice principles, safety standards, infectious disease management, and healthcare regulations.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Flexible schedule and overtime availability.
• Ability to interact effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds, including those with mental health or substance abuse issues.
• Must pass the facility's criminal background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial health screenings and physical assessments.
• Monitor and document patient health including vital signs and medical histories.
• Provide direct patient care, triage, assess needs, develop care plans, and coordinate services.
• Manage acute and chronic conditions such as asthma, hypertension, and diabetes.
• Respond to medical emergencies and arrange transport to facilities when needed.
• Educate patients on preventative care and healthy lifestyle choices.
