NaphCare, Inc. invites a skilled Mental Health Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at the Staton Correctional Facility in Elmore, AL. You will perform comprehensive assessments, administer medications, manage chronic conditions, and respond to emergencies in a controlled correctional setting.

The role emphasizes collaboration with corrections staff, dedication to patient confidentiality, and adherence to safety protocols while delivering high‑quality care to inmates with complex health needs.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Alabama (unrestricted).
• Current BLS CPR certification (AHA).
• Solid nursing knowledge and clinical skills.
• Excellent communication, organization and problem solving.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Flexibility to work overtime when needed.
• Respect for diverse patient backgrounds, including mental health needs.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to policies and code of conduct.
• Able to pass background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial health screenings and assessments for new detainees.
• Monitor vital signs, health history, and document care.
• Provide direct patient care, triage, and create care plans.
• Manage acute and chronic conditions (e.g., asthma, HTN, diabetes).
• Respond to medical emergencies and arrange transport as needed.
• Educate on preventive care and healthy lifestyles.
• Follow correctional security protocols with staff support.
• Maintain accurate medical records and update treatment plans.
