Job summary

NaphCare, Inc. is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in Union Springs, AL, where we manage healthcare for inmates at Bullock Correctional Facility.

As a Correctional RN, you will perform physical assessments, administer medications, manage chronic conditions, and respond to emergencies in a controlled environment. New grads are encouraged to apply and receive thorough training in correctional healthcare.

Qualifications

• Hold an active, unrestricted RN license in Alabama.
• Active BLS CPR Certification (AHA preferred).
• Knowledge of nursing practice, safety standards and regulations.
• Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Flexible schedule with overtime availability.
• Ability to interact with diverse patient populations and maintain confidentiality.
• Must pass background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial health screenings and physical assessments.
• Monitor and document patient health, vital signs and histories.
• Provide direct patient care, triage, plan care, and coordinate services.
• Manage acute and chronic conditions (e.g., asthma, hypertension, diabetes).
• Respond to emergencies, provide first aid, and arrange timely transports.
• Educate patients on preventive care and healthy living.
• Follow correctional security protocols while collaborating with officers.
• Maintain accurate medical records and report relevant information.
