Qualifications

• Master's degree in a relevant field (Clinical Psychology, Counseling, Social Work)
• Current licensure in LCPC, LPCC, LPC, LCSW, LMSW, LMHC, LMFT, LAC, or LSW
• Correctional mental health experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Conducts intakes, evaluations, and assessments for inmates referred by staff and inmates requesting services
• Identifies mental health symptoms and treatment needs and recommends housing or watch as needed
• Coordinates with MD/Prescriber/Psychiatrist and other staff for patient care
• Provides non-pharmacological treatments when appropriate
• Performs crisis and suicide intervention and management
• Provides supervision and treatment plans for inmates on caseload
• Documents services and ensures notes are accessible to staff
• Participates in treatment planning discussions and case follow-up
• Initiates involuntary hospitalization when needed and handles related paperwork
• Shares mental health expertise in staff trainings and meetings
