Job summary

CorrHealth is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse/ Vocational Nurse to assist in inmate care within a correctional health unit. Under RN supervision, you will conduct assessments, plan and implement care, and support medical procedures including medication administration and EKGs.

The role requires current LPN/LVN licensure, and the ability to work 12 hours weekly on Wednesdays 7:00p-7:00a. You will triage requests, follow HIPAA, and maintain documentation of care and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision of a Registered Nurse, assist in assessment of physical, psychological, and social dimensions of inmates in Health Care Unit.
• Assist in planning and implementing individual treatment programs with RNs and staff.
• Administer medications using proper techniques; IV therapy when certified.
• Support provider in evaluations, procedures, and minor surgeries; document with SOAP notes.
• Obtain body fluid specimens and perform EKGs as directed.
• Maintain and document controlled substances and medical equipment.
• Implement nutrition and therapeutic diet plans as ordered.
• Triaging and assessing healthcare requests.
