Job summary

State of North Carolina - Adult Correction is seeking a Correctional Lieutenant II (S) at Roanoke River Correctional in Halifax County, NC. The role provides supervision of staff, conducts shift line-ups, and ensures units operate safely and within policy.

You will prepare reports, conduct investigations, manage training, and assist in developing operational plans and post orders as part of a larger facility team. Deep knowledge of facility operations is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience supervising staff in a prison or similar setting preferred.
• Knowledge of prison facility operations and policy/procedure.
• Ability to write clear, accurate investigative and administrative reports.

Responsibilities

• Supervise subordinate staff and oversee shift operations in a minimum/medium custody facility.
• Conduct shift line-ups, assign posts, and inspect personnel for fitness for duty.
• Prepare time reports, duty rosters, leave schedules, and performance evaluations.
• Maintain equipment readiness and coordinate training for staff as needed.
• Conduct internal investigations and develop operational plans and post orders; follow SOPs.
