Job summary

State of South Carolina is seeking a supervisor to direct commissary, laundry and barber/beauty operations within a correctional environment. The role includes supervising laundry, training inmate workers, and ensuring procedures are followed.

The incumbent will assist with supply distribution and maintain equipment and sanitation standards. Candidates must complete four weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire and meet the minimum requirements outlined by State and SCDC.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and work experience directly related to the area of employment.

Responsibilities

• Direct commissary, laundry & barber/beauty operations under commissary manager in a correctional environment.
• Supervise the laundry operations.
• Train and oversee all inmate workers.
• Ensure proper procedures are utilized.
• Assist with supply distribution.
• Maintain sanitation of barber equipment.
• Order and stock equipment and supplies.
• Develop systems to reduce theft of laundry items.
• Assist in records inventories, weekly recaps, postings and SCEIS entries.
• Respond to staff requests.
• Perform duties of manager in their absence.
• Maintain equipment.
