Job summary

Aramark Correctional Services is seeking a Food Service Worker to supervise inmates in a correctional facility kitchen, train workers, and ensure meal production aligns with plans and safety standards.

The role requires prior food service experience and strong preference for corrections experience. The position is on-site with 2AM-10AM and 10AM-6PM shifts, seven days a week, including weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Minimum 1 year food prep experience preferred.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience interacting with inmates a plus.
• Able to motivate and supervise inmates and/or team members for food production.
• Must obtain a food safety certification.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Good judgment and tact required.
• Follow basic safety procedures and policies.
• Must qualify for and maintain correctional facility security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to and maintain preparation and production guidelines by reviewing production and temperature logs.
• Supervise inmates in food preparation and tray assembly.
• Ensure timely, efficient meal service and compliance with Aramark guidelines.
• Participate in preparation and serving of meals.
• Prints and distribute recipes.
• Direct inmates in use of Aramark recipes and train on proper cooking procedures.
• Ensure proper portions and accommodate dietary requirements.
• Obtain accurate daily population counts and review with staff.
• Adhere to security policies; keep storage areas locked.
• Ensure kitchen tools and equipment are secured and accounted for.
• Determine work procedures, set schedules and sanitation plans.
• Assist in inventory, receiving and storing of food; requisition orders as needed.
• Participate in HACCP and food handling standards compliance.
