Job summary

Alpharus Health is seeking an Employment Specialist to support clients in Marion and Lowell correctional settings. You will evaluate skill levels, create job readiness training, and build relationships with employers and community resources to aid employment goals.

The role requires a Bachelor's in social work or related field, Florida background-check readiness, and knowledge of correctional systems. Travel within the state is expected, with strong coaching and collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, vocational rehabilitation, or related field.
• Experience in workforce development, case management or reentry services, preferred.
• Knowledge of local labor markets, employment trends, and community resources.
• Valid local driver's license, insurance and good driving record.
• Ability to pass a Level 2 background check in Florida.
• Knowledge of correctional systems and challenges faced by incarcerated individuals.
• Familiarity with CRPS certification and related requirements in Florida.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, TEAMS.
• Skill in coaching, mentoring, and feedback to CRPS job seekers and employees.
• Ability to develop collaborative relationships with employers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Evaluating, selecting and implementing assessment tools to gather information on clients' skills and employability.
• Creating training materials and course objectives for job readiness training.
• Establishing relationships with employers, community agencies and job sources.
• Developing knowledge of federal and state rules and resources; staying updated on occupational resources.
