Job summary

ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS, REHABILITATION & REENTRY seeks Educational Teacher to design and deliver instructional programs for adults in a correctional setting. Candidates must hold an Arizona Teaching Certificate in Elementary or Secondary and a bachelor’s degree or higher.

Teach multiple subjects, track progress with required documentation, and collaborate with Special Education staff to support learners with diverse needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
• Current ADE Teaching Certificate in Elementary or Secondary.
• Background check, drug test, and possibly a medical/physical examination.
• TB test required annually and at orientation.
• E-Verify participation for state employment.

Responsibilities

• Teaches all subjects to students who have not completed full academic achievement; may provide Special Education services.
• Implements lesson plans and collaborates with Special Education staff.
• Assesses student progress and develops education plans.
• Maintains educational records and monthly work evaluations.
• Maintains a positive learning environment and classroom management.
• Escorts and supervises inmates in the education building/classroom.
• Participates in required training and professional development.
