Job summary

Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry seeks an Educational Teacher to design engaging lessons for adults and potentially minors with foundational literacy needs, aligned to Arizona teaching standards.

Applicants must hold a valid ADE teaching certificate for Elementary or Secondary and a bachelor’s degree or higher, with background checks and drug screening per state requirements. This role operates on-site at ASPC Perryville in Goodyear, AZ.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university
• Current Arizona Department of Education Teaching Certificate in Elementary or Secondary
• Arizona Department of Public Safety Fingerprint Card
• Employment contingent on background check, drug test and possibly medical exam

Responsibilities

• Teaches all subjects to students who have not completed full academic achievement, potentially through K-12; when required, provides Special Education services
• Implements teacher-designed lesson plans and coordinates with Special Education teachers
• Assesses students' progress and develops appropriate education plans
• Maintains and evaluates educational records and monthly evaluations
• Maintains security of testing instruments
• Collaborates with colleagues to meet Education Bureau goals
• Drives on State business and attends required trainings
