Job summary

Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry seeks an Educational Teacher to design engaging lessons for adults who have not achieved full K-12. The role involves delivering instruction across subjects, coordinating with Special Education, and documenting progress.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree or higher and a current ADE Teaching Certificate in Elementary or Secondary, plus background checks and a fingerprint card.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university is required.
• Current Arizona Department of Education Teaching Certificate in Elementary or Secondary area is required.
• Employment contingent on background check, drug test, and possibly medical examination.

Responsibilities

• Teaches all subjects to students who have not completed full academic achievement; provides Special Education services when required.
• Implements teacher-designed lesson plans and collaborates with Special Education staff.
• Assesses student progress and develops an appropriate education plan.
• Maintains educational records and monthly evaluations; documents outcomes.
• Maintains security of testing instruments and communicates with colleagues to improve instruction.
• Engages in professional development and supports a constructive classroom environment; supervises inmates in the education building.
