Strong leadership, budgeting, and food-safety expertise are essential. Responsibilities include menu planning, staff supervision, training, and coordinating with medical and administrative teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in food service management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Experience in a correctional facility or institutional food service environment preferred.
• Certification in food safety or sanitation (e.g., ServSafe) is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the facility's food service department.
• Plan, prepare, and execute menus based on nutritional standards and budget constraints.
• Ensure meals are served in a timely, safe manner and staff follow safety procedures.
• Supervise cooks, kitchen aides, and other personnel; conduct performance reviews.
• Develop and manage annual budget; monitor costs and inventory; prevent waste.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations; perform inspections.
• Collaborate with medical staff to meet dietary needs and restrictions.
• Coordinate with other departments and communicate meal schedules and requests.
