Job summary

County Sheriff's Office is seeking a Sheriff’s Correctional Deputy Cadet - Unclassified. The role involves training to join Sheriff's Correctional Deputies who maintain order and security of inmates, transport to court and other locations, and supervise inmate crews across the County.

Cadets attend a 13-week Adult Correctional Academy and receive medical, dental, and life insurance benefits. A 5% raise is awarded after six months of satisfactory performance, and a probationary period follows

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required at time of application.
• Must be able to pass a thorough medical examination.
• Must possess legal right to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Maintain order and security of inmates within a detention facility.
• Transport inmates to and from court and other locations.
• Supervise a crew of inmates on work projects across the County.
• Assist in correcting antisocial attitudes and behavior.
• Complete training in the Adult Correctional Academy after screening and exams.
