Job summary

County Sheriff's Office is seeking candidates for the Sheriff's Correctional Deputy Cadet - Unclassified. Trainees enter a 13-week Adult Correctional Academy after passing exams and screening, with potential to be sworn as a Deputy after graduation. A 5% pay increase may follow satisfactory performance at six months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED at time of application.
• Must have legal right to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Maintain order and security of inmates within a detention facility.
• Transport from correctional facilities to and from court, medical facilities, and other locations.
• Supervise a crew of inmates on work projects.
• Assist in correction of antisocial attitudes and behavior.
• Attend Adult Correctional Academy training program as trainee after passing exam and screening.
