Job summary

County Sheriff's Office is seeking a Sheriff's Correctional Deputy Cadet - Unclassified. Cadets enter a 13-week Adult Correctional Academy training program to become Sheriff's Correctional Deputies, under supervision, maintaining order and security of inmates and assisting in various correctional duties across county facilities.

Applicants must pass an agility test and meet all employment standards, including education, age, driver’s license, legal work status, medical and physical fitness

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED at time of application.
• Must pass a medical examination.
• Vision must be 20/100 or better, correctable to 20/20.

Responsibilities

• Maintain order and security of inmates within a detention facility.
• Transport inmates to and from court and facilities.
• Supervise a crew of inmates on work projects.
• Assist in correction of antisocial attitudes and behavior.
