Job summary

CFG Health Systems, LLC, is seeking a Dental Assistant to support dentists in a correctional facility, delivering high-quality care to inmate patients while complying with clinical guidelines and safety standards.

You will assist during procedures, handle sterilization, take diagnostic X-rays, maintain patient charts, educate on oral hygiene, and help manage supplies and equipment in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Completion of an accredited dental program from a community college, vocational school, technical institute, university, or dental school.
• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) credential.
• Current state X-Ray license.
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Previous clinical experience in a dental office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Dentist during procedures, including preparing instruments, materials, suction, and retraction.
• Perform sterilization of instruments and disinfect operatories between patients.
• Assist with diagnostic X-rays and preparation of dental materials (cement, composite, impression materials, etc.).
• Maintain accurate patient dental charts and record findings.
• Provide patient education on oral hygiene and preventative care.
• Maintain dental operator and equipment in proper working order.
• Inventory and order supplies to ensure adequate stock levels.
• Ensure adherence to infection control policies, universal precautions, and OSHA guidelines.
• Maintain dental office security, including instruments, medication, and needle counts according to regulations.
