Job summary

Correctional Case Manager Agency 131 within the Department of Corrections seeks a qualified full-time case manager to perform routine social casework for offenders and oversee classifications at Jim E Hamilton Correctional Center.

You will conduct interviews, prepare reports, advise on employment and education needs, and coordinate pre- and post-release services with community partners to support successful re-entry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Level II requires two years of correctional records management or social casework.
• Level III requires a bachelor's degree plus three years of related experience; master's may substitute for one year of the required experience.

Responsibilities

• Use interview techniques and assessment instruments to determine offenders' security risks and programmatic needs.
• Prepare case history reports and recommend program assignments.
• Review work and conduct records of all assigned offenders to determine progress or need for changes in assignments or security classification.
• Serve as a member of the classification unit for an assigned caseload.
• Advise offenders on personal problems, employment resources, vocational skills, educational and training needs, family problems and institutional adjustment.
• Deliver programs to offenders designed to aid in re-entry after release from incarceration.
• Assist with, or prepare reports such as parole summaries or court-ordered presentence investigations.
• Receive and process incoming/outgoing mail for offenders.
• Develop, monitor, and amend offender transition plans in line with re-entry programs and services.
• Establish collaborative networks with partners to provide pre and post-release services.
