Job summary

Miami Correctional Facility seeks a Correctional Caseworker to coordinate all case management matters and facilitate incarcerated individuals' access to programs and services.

The incumbent provides counseling and resources while ensuring policies are met. You will assess risk using the Indiana Risk Assessment System, create individualized case plans, track participation, coordinate with staff on re-entry, and document progress for each offender.

Qualifications

• A degree is not required; a high school diploma or equivalent is acceptable.
• Must obtain IRAS Certification within 90 days of hire and pass drug screenings.
• Experience in social work, corrections, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance to offenders on job assignments, housing changes, and facility procedures.
• Act as liaison between prospective employers, courts, community, and agencies for job development.
• Assess each offender's risk and needs using the Indiana Risk Assessment System (IRAS).
• Create individualized case plans addressing risk/needs and track program participation.
• Document interactions and progress, coordinating with staff on re-entry and release issues.
• Prepare documentation for case notes, referrals, and progress reports during incarceration.
