Job summary

Advanced Correctional Healthcare, Inc. in Michigan is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our correctional health team. You will provide nursing care and administer medications, collaborating with practitioners to ensure timely treatment and patient safety.

Responsibilities include documenting care, monitoring vital signs, following infection control practices, and supporting discharge planning. A valid RN license and BLS certification are required.

Qualifications

• Active nursing license in the state in which services are provided, in good standing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; hands-on training.
• Excellent documentation skills.
• Knowledge of the RN scope of practice.

Responsibilities

• Timely and accurately assess, plan, and deliver nursing care to patients.
• Administer prescribed medications, treatments and other tasks as ordered by the practitioner.
• Provide emergency first aid care, when appropriate.
• Check and record vital signs, peak flows, blood glucose checks, weight, and other diagnostic tests on-site, when appropriate.
• Collaborate and coordinate multiple medical services for diagnosis and treatment, as directed by the practitioner.
• Maintain aseptic techniques and infection control precautions as required.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA practices as required by government agencies.
