Advanced Correctional Healthcare, Inc. is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse? Correctional setting? Actually RN to deliver nursing care in a correctional facility in Traverse City, Michigan.

You will assess patients, administer medications, and coordinate care with practitioners across services. The role requires an active RN license in the state, BLS certification, and strong documentation skills. You may cover shifts at multiple facilities; HIPAA and infection control practices are essential.

Qualifications

• Active nursing license in the state in which services are to be provided, in good standing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; hands-on training.
• Excellent documentation skills.
• Knowledge of the RN scope of practice.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, and deliver nursing care to patients.
• Contact practitioner to obtain orders.
• Administer prescribed medications, treatments and other tasks as ordered by the practitioner.
• Provide emergency first aid care, when appropriate.
• Check and record vital signs, peak flows, blood glucose checks, weight, and other diagnostic tests on-site, when appropriate.
• Triage officer intake screenings for necessity and priority at sick call.
• Collaborate and coordinate multiple medical services for diagnosis and treatment, as directed by the practitioner.
• Maintain infection control precautions and aseptic techniques.
• Maintain HIPAA practices and patient confidentiality.
• May cover shifts at multiple correctional facilities.
