Job summary

Advanced Correctional Healthcare is seeking an registered nurse to deliver nursing care within a correctional facility. You will assess patients, administer medications, and collaborate with practitioners to support medical and behavioral health services.

Responsibilities include triage, vital signs, and documenting patient information in a timely manner while maintaining HIPAA compliance. The role may require coverage at multiple facilities and occasional back-up to site management.

Qualifications

• Active nursing license in the state where services are provided.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification with hands-on training.
• Excellent documentation skills.
• Knowledge of the RN scope of practice.

Responsibilities

• Timely and accurately assess, plan, and deliver nursing care to patients.
• Contact practitioner to obtain orders.
• Administer prescribed medication, treatments and other tasks as ordered.
• Provide emergency first aid care, when appropriate.
• Check and record vital signs, glucose checks, weight, and other tests on-site.
• Triage intake screenings for necessity and priority at sick call.
• Record data for CQI and prepare reports.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and HIPAA practices.
• Collaborate with multiple medical services for diagnosis and treatment, as directed by the practitioner.
• May cover shifts at multiple correctional facilities.
