Job summary

The Salvation Army Lawn Corps in Chicago is seeking a dedicated program coordinator to lead staff and volunteers, oversee youth and community programming, and support events. You will report to Corps Officers and help manage promotional materials, budgets, and communications across multiple channels.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED (associate degree preferred), at least two years coordinating programs, valid driver's license, and fluency in English/Spanish.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in ministry, education, nonprofit management, recreation, youth development, human services, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of two years of experience coordinating programs, events, activities, volunteer initiatives, youth programs, ministry programs, community outreach efforts, or related work.
• Valid driver's license and MVR clearance required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, virtual communication platforms, and social media.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) with the ability to communicate fluently in Spanish required.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to staff, volunteers, and program participants when Corps Officers are unavailable.
• Report monthly records and statistics of Corps programming to the Corps Officers.
• Coordinate budget needs for programs and upkeep promotional materials.
• Assist in planning and implementing Corps programming and events across youth and community initiatives.
• Coordinate with Corps Officers to schedule and promote events via social media, posters, and other channels.
