Job summary

The Salvation Army Lawn Corps in Chicago is seeking a dedicated coordinator to lead corps programming, events, and outreach. You will work with Corps Officers to plan and promote activities and manage communications with families, volunteers, and community partners.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, 2+ years coordinating programs, a valid driver’s license, and bilingual English/Spanish. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, virtual platforms, and social media is required to engage the

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in ministry, education, nonprofit management, recreation, youth development, human services, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of two years of experience coordinating programs, events, activities, volunteer initiatives, youth programs, ministry programs, community outreach efforts, or related work.
• Valid driver’s license and MVR clearance required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, virtual communication platforms, and social media.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) with the ability to communicate fluently in Spanish required.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to staff, volunteers, and program participants when Corps Officers are unavailable.
• Report monthly records and statistics of Corps programming.
• Coordinate budget needs for programs and promote events via social media and other channels.
• Assist in planning and implementing youth and community programming.
• Lead and coordinate Sunday Youth/Junior Church and other youth activities.
