Job summary

The Salvation Army in Baton Rouge is seeking a skilled accountant to manage fund accounting for Corps and CSRC, ensuring accurate journals and timely financial records.

You will post entries, generate monthly reports, and serve as liaison to the Finance Committee, safeguarding the integrity of financial data and compliance with GAAP.

A Bachelor's degree and at least two years of computerized bookkeeping experience are required; Great Plains experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• Minimum two years of progressive bookkeeping experience with computerized systems.
• Experience with fund accounting and GAAP preferred.
• Strong ability to prepare accurate financial reports and maintain journal entries.

Responsibilities

• Plan and administer all Corps and CSRC accounting functions.
• Maintain ledgers for multiple programs and prepare month-end reports.
• Post income, expenses, and balance sheet data; reconcile accounts.
• Collaborate with Finance Committee and provide financial data for board meetings.
