Job summary

Northgate Mortgage is hiring an in-house Corporate Recruiter to source, screen, and hire candidates for a growing team, with a focus on mortgage loan officers.

In this role you will manage the interview process end-to-end, conduct outreach to passive candidates, explain compensation and career opportunities, maintain candidate records, and collaborate with leadership to extend offers and drive starts, all on-site in Farmington Hills, MI.

Responsibilities

• Source prospective employees through direct outreach, professional networks, job boards, social media, referrals, and networking events.
• Contact potential candidates personally via phone, email, and individualized outreach, including professionals who have not applied.
• Conduct initial screenings and interviews to assess experience, qualifications, communication skills, professionalism, and role fit.
• Explain available positions, work expectations, compensation structure, benefits, and career opportunities using company-approved information.
• Review applications, schedule interviews, recommend qualified candidates, and coordinate hiring decisions with leadership.
• Communicate approved offers and support a clear hiring experience from first contact through scheduled start date.
• Build ongoing relationships with prospective hires, answer questions, and maintain candidate engagement.
• Maintain organized candidate records and provide management updates on outreach, interviews, offers, and completed hires.

Requirements

• Prior experience in recruiting, staffing, talent acquisition, or a relationship-driven sales role.
• Proven ability to proactively identify and approach candidates, not just rely on incoming applications.
• Confidence to make outbound calls, initiate conversations, conduct interviews, and follow up professionally.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills to represent Northgate professionally and accurately.
• Excellent organization and time management to manage multiple candidates and competing hiring priorities.
• Familiarity with job boards, professional networking platforms, and applicant tracking tools.

Preferred Experience

• Experience recruiting mortgage loan officers or other financial services professionals is preferred, but not required.
