Job summary

United Way of the Midlands in Columbia, SC is seeking a Corporate Engagement and Internship Manager to expand paid internship pipelines for YMU students. You will build employer partnerships, coordinate career exploration activities, and support professional development workshops.

Major duties include managing relationships with local employers, guiding students on resumes and interviews, and assisting with program evaluation and data accuracy.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of experience in workforce development, career services, higher education, nonprofit programming, employer engagement, or a related field.
• Organizational, interpersonal, and written/oral communication skills.
• Master’s degree preferred; Bachelor’s degree in education or HR acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Identify, recruit, and maintain relationships with local, regional, and remote employers to increase internship pipelines.
• Build partnerships with corporations, government agencies, and community stakeholders.
• Advise students on resumes, cover letters, and interview preparation.
• Monitor student progress and coordinate internship site visits.
• Support program workshops and data reporting for evaluation.
