• Maintains awareness of company activities to ascertain the nature and extent of potential loss.
• Periodically reviews company financial reports and other significant operating material.
• Advises on risk management aspects of new projects and acquisitions.
• Maintains communications with operating and staff departments to advise on insurance and loss prevention measures, administration techniques, and also to develop information on risks.
• Review bid specifications on major projects and provides proper insurance and tax information.
• Evaluates the suitability of captive insurance companies, cash flow plans, deductible programs and other alternative risk transfer and funding mechanisms.
• Performs annual analysis of loss reserve funding.
• Performs annual retrospective premium adjustments for our cash flow programs.
• Maintains continuing record of property values, inspection reports, etc.
• Develops and maintain a risk management manual.
• Assists other departments in the budget and planning process.
• Assists with premium and cost allocations.
• Manages employees by mentoring, coaching, providing feedback and assessing performance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
